Chuuk State laws regarding historic sites and antiquities can be found in Chapter 6.
For the research permit in Chuuk State, the following should be submitted:
1. Letter of request for research.
2. Research Proposal/plan
3. An MOU between researcher and the State.
In addition to Chuuk State requirements, FSM National Immigration requires a Bio-data/Resume of the researcher and one (1) letter of recommendation. Combined together, National and Chuuk state requirements and a letter by Chuuk HPO, a visa may be issued out for the duration of the research project. Researchers may enter/leave multiple times during project. Please note that this visa/permit only applies to non-FSM and non-USA Citizens. All non-FSM citizens should refer to the FSM National Cultural Policy.
